What’s new for Mazda in 2022? As always, Flightline Mazda wants to keep you updated on what’s happening with your favorite automaker. What better way to do that than to fill you in on the outstanding new models Mazda is preparing?
Here are some of the vehicles that are either brand new or coming soon:
- 2022 Mazda 3
- 2022 Mazda CX-30
- 2022 Mazda CX-5
- 2023 Mazda CX-50
- 2022 Mazda CX-9
- 2022 Mazda MX-30
- 2022 Mazda MX-5 Miata
It’s an impressive lineup considering the legacy of those models. Now, let’s check out the highlights from these vehicles.
The CX-5 has a lot of exciting upgrades to cover. Already a great crossover, it now comes furnished with new LED lights, front fascia, as well as upgrades to its 2.5 Turbo and Turbo Signature editions. Reviewers have also noted that its 6-speed automatic transmission has experienced significant improvements.
The CX-50, which debuts this November, will sell alongside the CX-5 and shares a platform with the Mazda CX-30 and Mazda 3. This will be the final year for the CX-9 model, as it is set to be replaced by the CX-90 in 2023.
The big one here is the 2022 Mazda MX-30, Mazda’s first foray into electric vehicles. There was a lot of emphases placed on interior comfort and design. It comes with rear-hinged doors, heated front seats, cork panel insides, a power sunroof, and the latest in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto equipment.
The MX-30’s electrical battery may only last about 100 miles, but Mazda appears to be prepping for its upcoming plug-in hybrid, expected to follow in a year or so. What about the MX-5 Miata? It’s been described as a solid roadster vehicle with a soft top and retractable hard top editions.
These are but a taste of what’s in store for Mazda innovation. Mazda also intends to introduce a CX-70 model somewhere down the road, likely by 2023. It would resemble the platform of the old CX-7 model. The Mazda 6 has been discontinued as well. We hope you found these Mazda updates useful and informative.
